It is understood they received 14,000 applications since issuing an appeal for help.

“The response to Covid-19 is putting enormous pressure on the HSC and we are urgently seeking expressions of interest from Clinicians and Social Care Workers who are not already working in Northern Ireland’s health and social care system or who have not been contacted as part of the final year medical, nursing, allied health and social care student recruitment programme,” said a Trust statement.

“We are also seeking Non-Healthcare Workers to fill a range of vacancies with paid employment including Porters, Catering Staff, Cleaning & Domestic Services Staff, Laundry Staff, ICT Professionals, Finance and Payroll, Call Handlers, Drivers, Electricians, Plumbers, Joiners, Warehousing, Maintenance Staff and more.
