GP surgery scales back service as doctors develop coronavirus

A GP surgery in Co Down has scaled down to an emergency-only service after two staff members tested positive for coronavirus.

The surgery is the Dr Cupples, Huey & McCreedy in Loughbrickland.

The Department of Health lists five doctors at the surgery: Dr M Huey, Dr BB Cupples, Dr Ann McCreedy, Dr Judith Graham, and Dr Agnieszka Cupples.

Practice manager Rhonda Patton said emergency services include tending to babies who need vaccines or people who need blood monitored, for example.

She said the surgery is currently down two doctors (but would not say who), that the remainder of staff are “self-isolating” and the surgery had hired a firm to give it a “professional deep-clean”.

They are also operating contact tracing.
