Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has rubbished suggestions it is planning to change waste collection services as a result of COVID-19 related staff shortages.

There had been concerns that staff shortages within the Council’s waste management division could lead to some collections being scrapped, at least temporarily.

However, speaking to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, a spokesperson for the Council denied any changes to collection services were being considered.

“There are ongoing pressures on staff numbers due to the current situation,” said a Council spokesperson.

“However there are no plans to change waste collection services at present.”
