Ulster Unionist Councillor Trevor Wilson said he couldn't see why the cemeteries should not reopen providing there are limited numbers and social distancing.

The Cookstown politician said: "People get a lot of comfort from visiting the graves of their loved ones and I believe with proper management and social distancing this could be accommodated.

"However this is a matter for the Executive and their decision will be based on medical and health advise."

The regulations presently allow funerals to take place at cemetery with limited numbers in attendance.
