The Ulster Unionist Party representative said: “Concerned constituents have made me aware of leaflets being delivered door to door in parts of East Antrim, encouraging locals to not take the Covid-19 vaccine, using fake news. Let’s be clear, the Covid-19 vaccine does not contain cells from aborted foetuses.

“To help yourself, your family and the local community, please take the vaccine when offered. I will when it’s my turn.”

His appeal was supported by party colleague Councillor Andrew Wilson, who is also the Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough.

Cllr Wilson said: “The Covid-19 vaccine is our route back to normality. Ignore the disinformation and join Roy and I by taking the vaccine, when offered.”
