Health Chief pays tribute to staff and partner agencies

MAIREAD McAlinden, Chief Executive of the Southern Health Trust has thanked all those who have worked tirelessly to maintain services to patients and clients during the recent severe weather.

Speaking at the Trust Board meeting she said; “Once again our staff have gone the extra mile to keep services up and running. Many provided cover for their colleagues who couldn’t get to work through the snow and battled the extreme weather conditions to make sure clients received the care they so depend upon.

“We are also hugely grateful to our many partners such as voluntary drivers, Red Cross, local farmers; NIFRS; PSNI Search and Rescue; local Councils; all volunteers including the Easter Stages Rally team and all the other agencies who worked alongside us to make sure we reached some very vulnerable clients. We are also indebted to the many good neighbours, friends and families who helped support people in their homes when our staff physically could not reach them.

“Once again thank you all for your dedication and for helping us to make sure our most vulnerable patients and clients received the services and support they needed.”
