Health Trust appoints directors

THE Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety has announced the re-appointment of seven non-executive directors to the South Eastern Health and Social Care (HSC) Trust, including Mr Dermot O’Hara, who lives in Drumbeg.

Mr O’Hara is Director – People Strategies with the Local Government Staff Commission for Northern Ireland. He previously worked for the NI Housing Executive, most recently as Project Manager, Modernising Services. Mr O’Hara was Non-Executive Director of the former Sperrin Lakeland HSS Trust. He has been a serving member of the South Eastern HSC Trust since its establishment on April 1, 2007. He is a lay member of a Health and Personal Social Services Research Ethics Committee.

Mr O’Hara brings to his role as a Non-Executive Director on the South Eastern HSC Trust Board his experience of Human Resource management at strategic and operational levels. He has also had lead roles in managing organisational change and service improvements.

Mr O’Hara holds no other public appointments and has not engaged in any political activity in the last five years.

The other non-executive directors appointed were Mr Peter Davison, Dr Donal Flanagan, Miss Francesca Graham, Ms Deepa Mann-Kler, Mr Nigel Mansley and Mr John Trethowan.

The re-appointments which were made in accordance with the Code of Practice issued by the Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland are for the period April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2015.

The South Eastern HSC Trust is managed directly by a board of directors which has corporate responsibility for its operation.
