Siobhan Hussey who was a patient and also worked temporarily in the ward, nominated the team for a Cavell Star award for their outstanding care and dedication during her stay in Lagan Valley Hospital, saying that the team went above and beyond during an incredibly busy time.

Nicki Patterson added: “The expert clinical care and compassion for patients and colleagues that this team demonstrated during the first wave of the pandemic clearly had a big impact on their nominator for this award. As we again seek support through the workforce appeal it should serve to re-assure anyone considering coming forward that they will be supported to give their best.”
