New fitness booking app for ABC leisure centres as they reopen

A new fitness booking app has been launched by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council ahead of leisure centres reopening on Friday.

The new app will allow leisure centre users an easy way to book their gym/swim or class activity.

All the council’s leisure centres as well as community centre gyms will be reopening on Friday for individual training, one-to-one coaching and individual swim sessions.

The new ‘getactiveabc’ leisure booking fitness app is aimed at helping users to easily book a slot.

A spokesperson for the Council said: “You can download the ‘getactiveabc’ app from the Google Play or App Store. It’s cleverly designed to manage all your fitness needs on your mobile device with a few simple clicks.. Not only can you make bookings for gym, swim, classes and activities; but you can also manage your account with ease; keep up to date with all the council’s latest leisure news and information, plus scan your virtual membership card.

“Council recently invested over £2.5m in state-of-the-art equipment at its eight leisure and community centres borough-wide, adding interactive life fitness equipment with screens and a range of cardiovascular and functional equipment including cross trainers, bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, free weights and new functional rigs. The new app will help users get the most out of their membership and stay active at their preferred centre.

“With the ability to sync to fitness apps and devices (like Fitbit, Runkeeper, Strava, Apple Health and council’s own Halogetactiveabc fitness app) - it’s the perfect app to kick start members goals for 2021. There are also a number of fantastic membership deals at all Council owned leisure/communjty community centre gyms at present including – No joining fee, no contract memberships, a freeze option on your membership and use of all centres borough-wide.”

The past year has been a difficult time for everyone, so we wanted to invest in making our customers feel as engaged as possible with us, as they start back on their fitness journeys.
