The other application will, if approved, see an extension to existing surface car parking for the proposed new CT scanner suite.

A transport assessment form submitted for the car parking proposal claims the facility will be used by a total of 18 cars and one taxi. These figures are based on two ways trips between 7am and 10pm.

With regard to transport impact the document claims the “increase in staff and visitors will be modest”.

It also explains that at present there are two CT scanners at the hospital, one permanent and one temporary, mobile CT scanner, the new unit will ultimately replace the existing facilities with all CT scanning carried out at Craigavon Area Hospital.
