Online support for people with hearing loss

Online information talks are being held via Zoom by RNID this month and next for people who are deaf, have tinnitus or hearing loss.

These will include a talk on Wednesday, January 27, from 10am-12noon on how to manage your tinnitus, how to take care of your hearing aids, how to communicate effectively with people who are Deaf or have hearing loss; on Wednesday, February 3 from 10am – 11am on overcoming Communication Barriers During Covid 19; on Wednesday, February 17 from 1pm – 1.30pm – when volunteer Steve Davis will give a short talk on his own experience growing up with hearing loss, how he managed his hearing loss and how it has been effected due to Covid-19; and, on Wednesday, March 3, from 10am – 12 noon on Hearing Health Training by the Hearing Aid Liaison Officer, this information session includes: An introduction to Hearing Loss and its causes, The signs of hearing loss and Hearing Loss Pathway, The impact of Hearing Loss (mental health, isolation, loneliness, falls, dementia) and Tinnitus and how to learn to live with it.
