Southern Trust congratulated after award win

THE Southern Health and Social Care Trust have been recognised as one of the top acute hospital trusts in the UK.

Speaking after the Southern Trust won the prestigious award at the CHKS awards in London Stephen Moutray said, “The CHKS 40 top awards are awarded on the basis of performance across 23 areas including clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

“The fact that the Southern Trust incorporating both Craigavon Area Hospital and Daisy Hill Hospital has now been acknowledged in this manner is a tremendous recognition of the dedication, care and professionalism of staff.

“Staff work day by day in what are often very trying circumstances to deliver the highest possible standard of care to patients.

“Along with party colleagues I am in regular contact with senior Trust staff on a wide range of issues and have worked very closely with staff in relation to numerous issues in recent times.

“There has never been any doubt in our mind of the commitment of staff to deliver the best health outcomes to patients. This award is tangible proof of the high degree of success and achievement on their part each and every day.

“I want to congratulate everyone and to thank them for the ongoing care that they show to people and ot wish them every continued success for the future.”
