Broughshane Girl Guides go 24-hr camping - virtually

Girlguiding and camping go together and even the Coronavirus failed to prevent the Guide unit in Broughshane from going ‘camping’, ableit virtually.

The theme was ‘pirates’ and the girls had to create a den resembling a pirate galleon in which they would also bed down for the night.

For 24 hours they all met over Zoom - accompanied by mums and dads - and took on a series of pirate-related challenges in their own homes. Highlights included pirate bingo, a sing-along, flag making, a treasure hunt, boat building and moon compass making.
