A six-week yoga session will begin next Tuesday, June 6, at 6.30pm in St. Mary's Parish Centre, Rathfriland.

The charge per session is £5. They are kindly subsidised.

From Monday, June 12, learn all about planting up your pots with Kieran. Bring your pots/window boxes, and the Drumgath Ladies will supply the compost.

Plants will be available on the night for participants to purchase and pop into their pots.

Places will be limited, so it is essential to book in advance with Mary Brannigan, as she needs to know how many pots participants are bringing.

Again, this activity is kindly subsidised through funding received by the Drumgath Ladies.

On Saturday, July 1, the Drumgath Ladies are planning a day trip to see 'The King and I' at Bord Gáis in Dublin, followed by an evening meal on the way home.

The Drumgath Ladies wish to thank Aileen for a fantastic evening of faux flower wreaths.

They are also indebted to the National Lottery, and Awards 4 All, DAERA, TADA, and the Halifax Building Society.

The Parish Centre is currently being refurbished, thanks to a grant from the DAERA Rural Halls Refurbishment Scheme.

A spokesperson for the group commented: “In September last year, the parish centre embarked on the journey of refurbishment, with six members of our congregation undertaking the ONC Level One in the Management of Rural Halls.

“The work itself commenced in February, consisting mainly of replacement boiler, radiators etc, replacing all the lighting with LED energy-efficient lighting and some work to a flat roof.

“We are delighted as a parish to have benefited from the refurbishment scheme, and hope that the work completed will have long-term sustainable benefits.

“It is hoped to have an official opening and re-launch in the Parish Centre in the next few weeks, when other maintenance work and decorating is completed.

“We are most grateful to all our funders who have allowed us to update our facilities, making them bright and inviting for all those who use the building, and also adding longevity to this fantastic 200 year-old building.”
