9,000 years of settlement – A26 Road scheme reveals secrets

Driving along the A26 in 2013/14 many of us were intrigued by the amount of archaeological work taking place as a result of the new roadscheme. This Friday (16th January) there is an opportunity to find out more at a meeting in Cloughmills Memorial Hall, at 7.30pm.

Colin Dunlop and Jonathan Barkley from Northern Archaeological Consultancy will talk about what was uncovered along the A26 Glarryford to Drones Road improvement scheme including a detailed presentation on the Early Medieval (700AD) settlement and souterrain uncovered on the hill above Logans at Cloughmills.

Organised by the Cloughmills Community Action Team in partnership with the Cloughmills Cultural and Historical Society admission is free. More online!

The event is sponsored by NI Housing Executive under the Shared Communities Programme.
