More recently Sharon saw a gap in the small to medium sized business market for professional outsourced HR support services at affordable prices and set up HR Unfolded Ltd in 2011, which she combines with working part time in an HR role for a national children’s charity.

I am an early bird and can get an hours work done in the morning when the house is quiet before the children get up, sorting through emails and organizing my diary for the weeks ahead. Then it’s time to get the girls up and ready for school. I have a great circle of family and friends and a fantastic after school club who help me out a great deal.

There isn’t really a normal day for me as it all depends on what projects I am working on at the time-I could be working in the home office or more often visiting clients, meeting staff or delivering training or some of the other services the business offers.

HR Unfolded provides commercially focused HR expertise to employers of all sizes in all sectors in Northern Ireland to help them get the best from their people, maximizing the profitability of the business. I work as an expert advisor to retained clients on all staff matters. I also help businesses who are going through difficult trading periods, who may need to restructure staff teams with possible redundancies to ensure the sustainability of the business. This can be extremely difficult for all management and staff involved.

Sometimes my job involves mediating conflict within an organisation- enabling staff and employers to resolve conflict and sort out issues face to face with the help of myself. I’m a member of the Professional Mediation Association and trained by and work as an Associate for The TCM Group, London.

We also offer other one to one learning opportunities via executive, personal development and outplacement coaching and mentoring.

I try to finish work before dinner and spend time with the family in the evening.

I really enjoy running my own business as I get a lot of satisfaction from helping clients with all their staffing needs.
