Action on Disability take to the stage

Action on Disability drama production group is proud to announce its continued partnership with the Grand Opera House Belfast for its fantastic Northern Iron based rendition of a mix-mash of Grease and Glee entitled ‘Gleease’, showcasing on Sunday August 18 at 7pm.

The show will also include a very special guest appearance by Northern Ireland’s one and only Tim McGarry.

The production which is being performed by people with a disability age 12 to 18+ has captured the imagination of the greater Norn Iron public with its unique characterisation and witty humour amidst the fantastic backdrop of the music from Grease incorporating captivating songs inspired by the hit television and musical Glee.

Joe McNally Coordinator with the Action on Disability explained that the drama group has come a long way from its early beginnings. “Let me start by being totally honest, if someone had told me that we would sell out the Grand Opera House Belfast within four years of the group commencing I would have laughed at them. This group of highly inspirational and motivational people have shown what can be achieved via sheer determination, hard work, confidence and self belief. The group has been together for approximately six years now and has scripted and performed its own unique renditions of ‘Oh Mummy Mia’ (Grand Opera House), ‘Grease’ and the ‘Wizard of Oz’ to capacity audiences and critical acclaim at the West Belfast Festival and various venues throughout Northern Ireland. The actors and actresses involved in this production have worked extremely hard in overcoming the various obstacles and barriers they have had to face throughout their lives.”

Tickets for the show can be purchased at the Grand Opera House Box Office on 02890241919 or online at www.goh.co.uk
