Advice on staying positive and coping with pain

Arthritis Care Northern Ireland is offering a free Staying Positive workshop in the Curran Court Hotel, Larne on Wednesday, March 21 and March 28 from 10am – 1pm.

Staying Positive is a complete pain management programme designed to help people cope with the emotional impact of living with chronic pan and develop techniques to deal with their pain.

The courses are delivered by highly trained volunteers, all of whom are living with pain.

The course is comprised of two three-hour sessions over two weeks. It provides a variety of self-management techniques for pain management including: relaxation, breathing techniques, communication skills, the benefits of exercise and how to combat negativity.

This course has been funded by South Antrim Rural Network. One previous participant said: “I have a more positive outlook now to living with pain and feel I can cope much better.
