Approval for new hotel function room

AN application for the construction of a new function room at a hotel in Portbalintrae has been approved by the Planning Service.

At last Tuesday night’s Planning Committee meeting the planners revealed that the application by the Bayview Hotel had been recommended for approval despite initially being refused.

Mr Michael Wilson of the Planning Service said: “The original application was refused, but we have been satisified with the amended drawings.

“There is still a roads issue, but we felt the economic reasons outweighed this as it means the hotel will now be able to take bookings throughout the year as opposed to seasonally.”
