Art and photo sale

Portballintrae Residents’ Association is holding an Art and Photography sale on Saturday and Sunday, August 20-21.

More than 100 paintings and photographs, in all price ranges, will be on show at Portballintrae Village Hall from 11am to 5pm on Saturday and 12 to 4pm on Sunday.

The vast majority of the artwork on sale is by very accomplished and accredited artists many of whom are from the North Coast.

This year there is a one off chance for people to buy an original “CD” size painting. There will also be a very special auction at 3pm on the Saturday of artwork by Julian Friars, Ross Wilson, Patrick Calhoun, Ray Elwood and a special shirt autographed by Open campion Darren Clarke. All proceeds from the auction go to the Friends of Pavestone Centre.

Pavestone Centre is a non-profit organistion that offers vocational and leisure rehabilitative services for people with mental or physical conditions.

This is a buy and take event. Admission is free and refreshments will be available.

Annual parade

Drumaheagles Young Defenders annual competition parade will take place on 20th August, the starting point will North Road, Ballymoney and will commence at 8.30pm sharp.

Prior to the parade commencing we can announce that Sir George White, Rankin Memorial and Cairncastle will be playing on the council trailer which will be located in the Diamond of the town.

We have the privilege of Omagh Protestant Boys confirmed to lead the parade. After the parade has finished we have more events planned with a disco in The Manor Hotel were Pride of the Maine and Newbuildings will play and also a disco will be held in The Imperial Bar’

Killrammer dance

Killyrammer and District Community Association are holding their monthly dance on Thursday 18th August in the community centre at 8.30pm.

The music will be provided by J.J. Carty and the admission charge is £4. A light supper will be provided. Everyone will be made very welcome.
