Autumn courses at Ballymoney Town Hall

If you are thinking about taking up a new hobby this autumn, why not enrol in one of Ballymoney Borough Arts Committee’s new courses.

There are a number of courses for adults - Calligraphy with Betty Ward on Monday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm, Creative Writing with tutor Teresa Godfrey on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, Patchwork with Anne Rickerby on Tuesday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and Painting with Freda McKeown on Wednesday morning from 10.30am to12.30pm and on Wednesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. All courses start week beginning 24 September apart from Patchwork which starts on 2 October.They run for 10 weeks in Ballymoney Town Hall and the cost is £45, concessions £35.

There are also two one-day Calligraphy workshops with Betty Ward in November. The first workshop takes place on Saturday 3 November and participants will learn how to write simple inscriptions for all occasions including Christmas and birthdays. The Christmas workshop on Saturday 17 November is ideal for anyone wanting to add a special touch to their Christmas gifts. Both take place from 10am-5pm in the Town Hall. The cost is £15, concessions £10 for each workshop.

For children, there are Drama and Dance courses with tutor Eimear Hughes on Mondays beginning 24 September for 8-11 year olds and on Tuesdays beginning 25 September for 5-7 year olds. These take place from 4pm to 5.3pm for 10 weeks in Ballymoney Town Hall and the cost is £30.

After that date you can ring to book your place or call in at the Town Hall which is open Monday to Thursday and Saturday 9am-5pm and on Friday 9am-4.30pm.
