Award for local Renal Unit

The Renal Unit in Altnagelvin Hospital in Londonderry was crowned with the top title in the Daycare category in the Western Healthcare Trust at the Best Kept Health & Social Care Awards, sponsored by George Best Belfast City Airport.

The Renal Unit at Altnagelvin Hospital takes home the prize for the Best Kept Health & Social Care Facility in the Healthcare category for the Western Trust. Judges commented on their innovative environmental initiatives, aimed at bringing users and staff together to create a long-lasting and enjoyable place to stay. Representatives from health and social facilities across Northern Ireland joined together at Knockbraken Health Centre for the ceremony, presented by the Northern Ireland Amenity Council (NIAC).

The Renal Unit impressed the judges with its impeccable appearance, clean and tidy manner and innovative environmental initiatives, aimed at bringing users and staff together to create a long-lasting and enjoyable place to stay.

The Health and Wellbeing Campus at Altnagelvin also received praise from judges as the runner up in the same category.
