Ballymena brothers release new poetry collections

TWO BALLYMENA brothers ,both published poets,have recently released their new collection of works.

Joseph and Gary Allen are established award winning writers, who each have their own collection of various printed material.

‘Looking for Robert Johnson’ is Joseph’s fifth collection of poetry, while ‘The Next Room’ is Gary’s sixth full length collection.

Joseph has been published in poetry magazines and literary journals in Europe, Canada and the U.S.A.

He received an award in 2010 from the Arts Council for Northern Ireland.

With a life-long interest in the gritty Delta Blues, Joseph also plays guitar and harmonica and has performed around Ireland, Britain and Europe.

Gary has been published in literary magazines across the world including leading journals such as Dark Horse, Edinburgh Review, Irish Pages, London Magazine and Poetry Ireland.

Gary also has published a novel, ‘Cillin’, which is a collection of short stories, four pamphlets of poetry and five full length collections.

A new collection, ‘Ha, Ha’ is due later this year from the leading Irish Poetry Publisher.

Gary’s ‘The New North’ collection, originally published by Wake Forest University Press, North Carolina in 2008 has just been republished in the U.K. by leading British poetry publisher, Salt.

He received an award from the Arts Council for Northern Ireland in 2010.
