BARK Open Day

BENVARDIN Kennels are holding an open day to mark their first birthday!

The Open Day will take place on August 6th from 1pm - 4pm and will feature all sorts of fun.

There will be a fun dog show, lots of fun for the children and the Guide Dog Association, the PDSA and the Dogs Trust will all be attending. Local vets will be on hand to provide information and promote animal health.

There will also be a dog competition with ten different categories to participate in.

Admission is free and there will be a barbecue provided by the Adelphi Hotel in Portrush with all proceeds going towards the kennels.

The organisers of the Open Day say it’s their way of thanking everyone who has supported Benvardin during this first year and who has rehomed a dog.

Vehicle events

BALLYMONEY Old vehicle Club is holding a number of events over the next two months.

On Wednesday, July 27 there will be a static display and run of vintage motorcycles at Armoy Road Races from 6pm.

On Thursday, July 28 there will be a static display and run of vintage cars at Armoy Road Races from 6pm.

Finally on Wednesday, August 3 Clough Vintage Club will be holding a static display of motor cars and motorcyles in Clough from 6pm.

Stranocum dance

Stranocum and District Committee Association are holding a bbq and marque dance on Saturday, August 6 from 8pm.

The event will be held in Stranocum Hall and music will be provided by Solid Gold. Tickets are priced £12.50 and are available from local businesses and community members. For more information call 028 207 51676 or 028 207 41191.

Glebeside schemes

Glebeside Community Association will be continuing it’s summer schemes for children aged between 6-14.

This year’s schemes will include sports, arts & crafts, dance music, cooking with Mrs Jean Thompson and also a couple of trips.

The second scheme will be running to Monday 25th July - Friday 29th July

Cost per child for the two weeks £15. Children in attendance are asked to bring their own lunch. Various snacks will be provided each day. Schemes will start at 10am and finish at 3pm. For more information contact the Community House 02827667624.
