The Mending Broken Hearts Appeal is one of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken by the charity.

Its goal is simple: to fund the research that could begin to literally ‘mend broken hearts’ in as little as 10 years’ time and save and improve the lives of millions worldwide within decades.

Jimmy signed up as a BHF Northern Ireland volunteer in Autumn 2008 and since then has been organising a number of events, including a sell-out country show, collections and raffles.

Jimmy has also been raising awareness about heart disease and BHF Northern Ireland, representing the charity at various events across the country.

“The British Heart Foundation is an excellent cause,” he told the Times.

“For example the body employs 50 health care professionals in Northern Ireland.

“The ball will help raise funds for this very worthwhile cause and it promises to be a fantastic evening.”

Tickets for the ball cost just £40 and a great night’s entertainment is ensured!

Guests will receive a warm welcome inside the castle walls with a complimentary drinks reception and a delicious five course meal with wine.

The evening will be interspersed with spot prizes, a raffle and auction for valuable prizes.

Entertainment for the night comes from local comedian and BHF Northern Ireland supporter William Caulfield, fresh from the success of his TV series ‘Our William’ and just before he embarks on a very busy pantomime season.

William said: “I’m delighted to be part of the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal ball in October.

“Heart disease touches us all - it is totally indiscriminate, affecting young and old alike. Buying a ticket for this special event will be a great way to show your support to beat Northern Ireland’s biggest killer.”

Well known local duo The Remo Band will provide the music for dancing and a disco will follow - if you still have the energy!

Help give hope to thousands of hearts in Northern Ireland.
