To celebrate the launch of Bushmills Irish Honey, the latest addition to the Bushmills collection of premium blends and single malts, Bushmills commissioned some good friends who are artisans to make the launch memorable by handcrafting a 14 square foot Honey Hive.
2500 screws, 250 hours, 200 hexes and 10 whiskey casks later, the handcrafted wooden hive took its place in Belfast City centre and played host to a surprise live gig from acclaimed Northern Irish artist Rams Pocket Radio, AKA Peter McCauley. He has emerged as one of Ireland and the UK's most exciting artists, has toured with Snow Patrol and enjoyed Radio 1 playlisting.
The celebration continued later that evening with a launch event gig in Oh Yeah Music Centre where Rams Pocket Radio headlined along with other indie music artists, Runaway Go and Verse Chorus Verse.

The new taste recognises the global reputation the brand holds for a smooth taste and reinforces the quality, authenticity and heritage that have been hallmarks of Bushmills Irish Whiskey for over 400 years.

Blended using Bushmills Irish Whiskey and just a touch of pure Irish honey, the newest member to the Bushmills family, “offers consumers a new choice that mixes well, is approachable and unique in its own right”, said Master Distiller Colum Egan.

To celebrate the launch, Bushmills commissioned some good friends who are artisans to make a 14 square foot Honey Hive, handcrafted out of wood that includes casks used to mature Bushmills Irish Whiskey.

2500 screws, 250 hours, 200 hexes and 10 whiskey casks later, the handcrafted wooden hive took its place in Belfast city centre and played host to a surprise live gig from acclaimed Northern Irish artist Rams’ Pocket Radio, aka Peter McCauley at Oh Yeah Music Centre last Thursday.

Peter has emerged as one of Ireland and the UK’s most exciting artists, has toured with Snow Patrol and enjoyed Radio 1 playlisting.

Rams’ Pocket Radio performed a 20 minute intimate gig to Bushmills and music fans to mark the arrival of the latest member to the Bushmills range.

Peter McCauley said: “My favourite musical memories are experiences that I’ve shared with friends, when we’ve come together to create something unique. I see Bushmills Honey in a similar way - the coming together of Bushmills Irish Whiskey, made by a community of people, with pure Irish Honey. It’s a great pairing, just like whiskey and music is!”

Indie artistes Runaway Go and VerseChorusVerse also played on the night.
