Busy summer for NAHA

It has been a busy summer for the members of North Antrim Horticultural Association.

The annual outing in May was to Dobbies Garden World, Lisburn and Rowallane Garden, Saintfield. In August members enjoyed a lovely summers evening at John & Elizabeth Millar’s garden in Portglenone. The 83rd Flower Show took place at the end of August with over five hundred exhibits in the various classes as members put on display the results of their summer labour hoping to win one of the many prizes on offer.

As the evenings draw in the Association’s activities now move indoors for their Winter Programme with the first meeting-taking place on Monday 26 September. The guest speaker will be Brendan Little a member of BBC Radio Ulster’s Gardener’s Corner team. Brendan trained at the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin, and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. His talk will be Views of Kew.

The meetings will be held in the Main Auditorium in the Town Hall, Ballymoney at 8.00pm and potential new members will be made most welcome.
