Car boot

A CAR boot sale in aid of Ballycastle Wraparound Club takes place on Friday 19 August.

The event will be held at Lucky Bingo’s car park at Fairhill Street from 5pm until 8pm.

The money raised, which is hoped to gaine good public support, will go towards new equipment for the popular club.

Cars are £5 each and anyone taking part is asked to be there from 4pm.

Old Time Dance

An Old Time dance will be held in Lavin Orange Hall on Friday, September 3 from 9pm til late.

Music will be by Sam and Willie O’Neill. Everyone welcome.

Variety concert

Cloughmills District LOL No14 is holding a variety concert on Thursday, Septmber 8 in the Orange Gall.

The event will start at 8pm and feature Skullduggery, Diane Culbertson, Billy McFarland, Amos Gilmore, Claire Knox and other special guests.

Compere will be R Agnew. Admission £6. Everyone welcome.

Ballymoney Town Hall on Thursday 25th August at 8pm is the place to be for Claudy’s fiddling sensation Ritchie Remo will be officially launching his new album (Fiddlin around) which is available for request on all the major radio station worldwide.

Ritchie Remo is not only a Fiddler, Singer, Songwriter, but one of the finest entertainers in the business.

His new album features ‘Tipperary Girl’, ‘The Devil Went Down To Baton Rouge’, ‘Fare Ye Well’, among others.

This dynamic performer captivates audiences everywhere he goes. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this lively showman in action.Joining Ritchie on the night will be Ballymoney’s very own Alastair Coyles, Radio Star’s Cowboy Larry, Andy Lowry (The Singing Diggerman). The show will be compered by Downtown Radio’s Warren Smyth and the backing band will be Ireland’s Music Man Steve Farlow. Admission is only £5.

WEDNESDAY 17TH AUGUST - Litter Lift of the Glebeside Estate, followed by B-B-QUE. Meet at the Community House at 7pm

THURSDAY 18TH AUGUST - Male & Female Pool & Darts Competitions 7pm at the Community House

FRIDAY 19TH AUGUST - Junior Pool & Darts Competitions 1pm at the Community House followed by the W11 Competition

Saturday 20th AUGUST - The last day as always is an action packed afternoon with the following events,

Tombola, FacePainting, Nail Painting, Various Inflatables. Musicial entertainment wilLbe provided by Fuse FM, Vow Accordion Band and Drumaheagles Flute Band Dancing display by Claire McDowell School of Dancing.

The Young at Heart Club will be running the Ulster Scots Cafe with Mrs Jean Thompson as always doing the baking. An U’12,s Football Competition will be held on Belford Park Green starting at 11am. Entries can be taken on the day at 10.30am at a cost of £3 per team. Mens Horseshoe Competition will also be held on the green again entries on the day. PSNI will also be in attendance with the Police Motorbike and Van. A Fancy Dress competition will be held for under 4’s, under 10’s and over 10’s.Judging for the Fancy Dress will be at 1.30pm. The afternoon will close with the prize giving at approximately 4.30pm.

Prizes will be presented by the Mayor and Mayoress. All the fun on the Saturday begins at 1pm unless otherwise stated. Glebeside Community Association would wish to thank Ballymoney Borough Council Festival, Fund and Awards For All and the International Fund For Ireland who have helped sponsor the weeks events.
