Carrickfergus features in new RTE drama

Watch out for brand new, original drama A Sign of Things which was shot mainly in Carrickfergus and commissioned by RTÉ and Northern Ireland Screen for the new season of Storyland.

A Sign of Things stars 18 year old drama student, Jenny Walsh from Larne, who has previously starred with Moone Boy’s David Rawle in Time and Again

A Sign of Things looks at uncertainty following BREXIT through the eyes of a teenage girl figuring out who she is after her Dad loses his factory job and seemingly devotes his life to the Church in Carrickfergus.

Another original commissioned for Storyland is Cry Rosa which stars Kelly Gough (The Fall, Broadchurch), Martin McCann (The Survivalist, Ripper Street), Skye McClenaghan (Paula, My Mother and Other Strangers), 11-year-old, Grace Fleming making her on screen debut as lead, Rosa.

Both producer Emma-Rosa Dias and writer David McCrea were former pupils of the main shooting location, Hazelwood Integrated College, Belfast, and Emma-Rosa invited drama students from Hazelwood College to audition with many being cast as extras and some being cast as speaking roles.
