Causeway Craft Fair

Can Can Recycling is hosting the Causeway Bazaar on 11th June at The Lodge Hotel in Coleraine.

Can Can is a social enterprise for people with learning disabilities in the Causeway area. As part of CAN - Compass Advocacy Network (Charity NO. XR23013), they recently launched “Can Can Upcycle” which sells a range of vintage and upcycled furniture, jewellery and craft items made from recycled materials.

Clare Carson, Social Enterprise Manager said “Whilst looking at where we could sell our fabulous upcrafted items, we realised there was a lack of opportunities in this area even though there are dozens of events e.g. The Fashion Souk/Vintage Fairs etc. occuring weekly in Belfast!!! We decided to hold an event which would bring together crafts people and people involved in upcycling, recycling and social enterprise in the Causeway Area.

“The response has been amazing and exhibitors will include many kindred spirits involved in upcycling, vintage, recycling, artisan creations, homemade food items, crafts and handmade items. It promises to be a great day out for anyone who has a love of anything local or handmade. If you are looking for unusual presents, this will be the place to be. Music will be provided by local swing/jazz sensation, Jason Maguire so the Bazaar promises to be the place to be on 11th June!”

Children under 12 are free and there will be craft and upcycling activities for children throughout the day.

Exhibitors include: One-Off Designs, Lori-Rose, Alternative Angles, JenniMac Handmade Cards and Crafts, All Stitched Up, Country Crafts, Soft Felt Accessories, Can Can Upcycle, Can Can Bazaar, Causeway Chutneys, Pothecary designs, Previously Loved, Used2Be, Cupcakes, Ashling Ramsey, Little Fish Beads, B’Jewelled, Black Bow Bears and Patchwork (Coleraine).

Raffle prizes have been donated by The Ramore Wine Bar in Portrush, Local Artist Derek McAfee and Local Photographer, “Images by George”.
