Causeway U3A hear about Downhill

Mike Jones presented a letter of concern about the possible reduction and closure of Causeway Hospital’s A&E unit.

The document was available to all members who were encouraged to either use it directly or use it as a basis for their own version of a letter and send it to the Health Minister.

Members were then told about the switch over to digital television happening in Northern Ireland this month. Malcolm Pollard clearly and helpfully explained what was happening and what our options are for the various BBC, UTV and RTE channels.

The main speaker for the day was Toby Edwards the National Trust’s site manager for Hezlett House, the Downhill Demesne and Portstewart Strand.

Toby provided a comprehensive, entertaining and well illustrated presentation of the wide range of activities and events provided by the National Trust.

Causeway U3A is a self-help organisation for retired or semi-retired men and women, it has over 860 members and is open to all.
