Celebrity chefs set for festival

ORGANISERS of the P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival have scored another coup with the announcement that TV’s hottest chefs, the Fabulous Baker Brothers, will be headlining at this year’s fine food festival.

Channel 4’s TV chefs, Tom and Henry Herbert will cook up a storm on the covered courtyards of the beautiful Glenarm Castle on Friday 13th July.

Taking place on Friday 13th July and Saturday 14th July, the good food element of the P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival promises to be a feast for all the senses and the brothers will be joined by a line up of award-winning Taste of Ulster Chefs, local producers and artisans, who together will celebrate some of the exceptional produce of the Glens of Antrim and Northern Ireland as a whole.

Tom Herbert, one half of the Baker Brothers, said, “We can’t wait to get our hands on some of the foods and flavours that Northern Ireland is so famous for. We are passionate about supporting local producers and we are both really excited about our visit to Glenarm.”

Adrian Morrow, Glenarm Castle Estates Managing Director, said, “The Glens of Antrim are known for producing some of the finest food in the country. We want to celebrate the quality and diversity of the food in the area and also give people a chance to taste new flavours and enjoy something different. It’s great to have Food NI supporting us this year and we are all really looking forward to the food and fun of the festival.

“We have made sure that whatever the weather visitors will have a great time, with the courtyards and event areas all covered against the rain or indeed baking sun.”

The festival is a celebration of music, sport and fine food and includes a headline performance from international pop star Ronan Keating with special guest star Sharon Corr on Saturday 14th July – all under cover of a big top, so you don’t need to worry about the weather! Festival-goers will also be treated to shows of strength with the return of the action-packed Highland Games, which this year will see Irish competitors go head-to-head against Scottish strongmen in the Clash of the Celtic Giants.
