Celtic festival

Beltaine is one of the four major Celtic festivals, which marks the beginning of Summer.

Join the festivities on Monday, May 7, from 11am–6pm at the Navan Centre & Fort as the tribes of Ulster gather to celebrate in genuine Celtic fashion!

Witness the traditional arts of bread, butter and cheese-making and learn how meat was prepared with herbs from the special garden.

Test your strength against our greatest warriors in the military school. Listen to tales of the Ulster Cycle as told by our ancient bards. Have fun with the kids with special arts and crafts.

A tradition at the feast of Beltaine was the lighting of fires. Witness the lighting of the purification fires… and perhaps get married by an ancient druid upon the sacred mound. Normal admission charges apply for this event which will certainly make a great day out for all the family.
