Chamber wastes no time to learn

MEMBERS of the Causeway Chamber of Commerce turned out in force this week to gain an insight into the world of waste management.

The delegation, made up of representatives from the North West’s leading companies, viewed first-hand the effects of the multi-million pound investment in the Ringsend site and learnt how RiverRidge Recycling are working hard to divert waste from landfill and assist businesses to reduce their waste management costs.

James Smyth, President, Causeway Chamber of Commerce said, “We have a diverse range of members and our focus is on spurring economic growth by encouraging our members to share best practice and knowledge from their various industries.

“RiverRidge Recycling play an active role in the local community both at an economic and community level and it was very impressive to see at first-hand how diverse and innovative the waste management industry is.”

Members of Causeway Chamber were shown around the multimillion pound Materials Recycling Facility that has allowed RiverRidge to divert increasing levels of waste from landfill and become one of the country’s leading waste management providers.

Brett Ross, Managing Director, RiverRidge Recycling said, “It is great to see so many members coming along and while they didn’t get their hands dirty, I hope that they realised how much of a resource waste can actually be.

“We have been working with many businesses across the area to help them lower their waste management costs and divert more waste from landfill, and as a member of the Chamber of Commerce we were keen to share our knowledge and hopefully help some more businesses.”
