Charity screening of Planes

If you are looking for somewhere to take the kids over the Easter week look no further than the Old Courthouse, Antrim.

Mayor of Antrim, Councillor Roderick Swann, is hosting a Charity Cinema Afternoon at the Old Courthouse on Thursday, April 24 at 2pm for NSPCC. The main attraction will be Planes.

The story centres around Dusty Crophopper, a little duster plane with a fear of heights and a crazy dream of being a racer.

While his friends need convincing, Dusty gets the training he needs from Skipper, a veteran fighter, and qualifies for the ‘Wings Across the World’ race. Will he win the race? You’ll have to come along and find out!

Councillor Swann said: “It’s a privilege to be able to support charity in my capacity as Mayor and I chose NSPCC because of the growing problem of abuse, neglect and bullying against children. I hope that we can fill the Courthouse for this great family film and raise lots of money for this fantastic charity.”

NSPCC community fundraising manager, Fionnuala Savage, added: “We are so grateful to the Mayor of Antrim for his ongoing dedication and support for NSPCC Northern Ireland.

“We run a range of services for local children and families, and the support from the mayor and the funds raised from the cinema afternoon will really make a difference to our goal to end child cruelty.”

The running time of Planes is 91 minutes and has a U certificate. Tickets costs £5 each and are available from the Box Office www.antrim.gov.uk/boxoffice or phone 028 9446 3113/9448 1338.
