Charlie McAfee film night

Killyrammer & District Community Association in conjunction with Keith Beattie from Ballymoney museum invite you to view a “Life & Times in Ballymoney”, digitally remastered highlights of the many 8mm films that the late Charlie McAfee recorded between 1951 and 1988 on the incidents and adventures of local life.

Among the footage will be excerpts from the end of Rosie Higgins’ pub, the visit of Walter Love and the ‘Day by Day’ radio show, stock car racing at Aghadowey, Ballymoney BMX club, John Watt ‘The Singing Farmer’, the Roddens residents ‘ride the range’, Ballymoney Flower Show in 1984 and the Ballymoney Community week of 1982. Charlie even shows off his magic tricks to the amusement of everyone.

‘Life & Times in Ballymoney’ will begin at 7.30pm on Thursday 9th June in Killyrammer & District Community Centre. Admission is £3 and this will include tea and pastry. Places will be limited so please come early to avoid disappointment. Everyone will be made very welcome.
