During the week-long initiative, local police, along with colleagues from the NI Fire and Rescue Service, Women’s Aid, Northern Ireland Electricity, Department of Regional Development Road Safety, Newtownabbey Borough Council Environmental Health and Translink instructed pupils on a variety of safety issues, giving them the necessary skills and information to help keep themselves safe.

The children got the opportunity to learn about bicycle safety with assistance from Davy McCoy of Carnmoney Raleigh Centre, and were informed about potential hazards around the home by representatives of Home Accident Prevention Newtownabbey.
