Christmas fun and games at Drumlough

Drumlough & Ballygorian Rural Development Association recently held a very successful and festive Christmas Party at Drumlough Orange Hall that kept both young and old entertained through the afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Association explained:“We were approached by a lot of parents from the local community who were keen to run an affordable festive event in the run up to Christmas.

“We were pleased to be able to accommodate this request and as such a lot of planning took place to make the party December, such a big success.”

He continued: “The children were entertained by the well-known local story teller Steve Lally, who kept them amused with his funny stories and games.

“Following this Santa arrived to distribute presents to all the boys and girls and to hear from them what they wanted him to bring them on Christmas Eve.

“Those who were ‘too old’ to sit on Santa’s knee were able to get some last minute gifts and bargains at the craft stall and cake sale.

“The party was finished off with the release of the balloons just before everyone sat down to some festive food and drink.

“We would again like to express our thanks and gratitude to the EirGrid Group for their support of this event which has helped us keep these admission charges to a minimum.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our friends and supporters for supporting us throughout 2013 and wish them a very happy and prosperous New Year.”
