The event was a way for the McKee family to celebrate the life of their son, Christopher, who died of meningitis in 2011. as well contributing to the ongoing fight against meningitis in Northern Ireland.

To the delight of both the McKee family and the charity, the event raised the fantastic sum of just over £16,000 for

the Meningitis Research Foundation.

At the event, the red carpet was rolled out for guests with a four course gourmet meal, a raffle and auction as well evening entertainment which was provided by The Merchants.

The event was a stylish affair with men looking smart in black tie and ladies glamorous in their ball gowns. Guests danced until 2am, enjoying the atmosphere and taking the opportunity to celebrate Christopher’s life among family and friends.

The auction and the raffle had some fantastic prizes with guests digging deep and displaying enormous generosity in their support of the Meningitis Research Foundation.

Sinead McMurray of the Meningitis Research Foundation said: “This event would not have been possible without the commitment, support and hard work of the McKee family - they have supported us since Christopher sadly passed away in 2011 and we are very grateful for all of their hard work. We would also like to thank all of the guests for their generosity as well as those who supported the event with donations, raffle prizes and auction lots.

“This money will go a long way towards supporting the vital work of the foundation.”
