Classic Japanese bikes at Ballymena show

Fans of classic motorbikes in the Ballymena and Antrim areas are in for a special treat next weekend.

The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club, Northern Section will make a return to the Seven Towers Leisure Centre on 3rd/4th October.

Under the stewardship of Billy Bamber, Ian Waddell and Brendan McMullan the show will be bigger, better and brighter that any of previous displays.

Classic Japanese, British and European Marques plus scooters and auto cycle will be on show in the Display hall at the Centre.

Triple City Kawasaki and Bernie Saunders will be bringing a collection of bike from the mainland and Saunders will display Rocket Ron Haslam’s RSC 1000 Honda - not a machine to miss.

The show promoters are hoping that ex 500cc Grand Prix Racer Eddie Laycock will make a guest appearance on Saturday. Laycock was a class act on the Road Racing circuit before moving to GP on the Joe Millar rocket ship. As a tribute to the late Ralph Bryans a special stand will be in place that will include motorcycles, leathers and other memorabilia never seen at any show before.

There will be trade stands galore along with the largest Auto jumble seen in Ireland, plenty for the punter who needs that part to complete a restoration project. The Promoters of the show have chosen the NI Childrens Hospice as the Charity. The Show will open on Friday from 5pm to 10pm and on Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Entry is £5 and children under 14 accompanied by an adult will get in free.
