Coleraine Art Society Winter Exhibition opens

THE 65th Winter Exhibition of the Coleraine Art Society officially opened in Coleraine Town Hall on Saturday.

Ceramic artist, Adam Frew accepted the Society’s invitation to open our exhibition and judge paintings and present the awards.

The committee and members of the Coleraine Art Society wish to thank Adam for attending.

Also thanks to the Director of Leisure Services at Coleraine Borough Council and staff for their help with this exhibition.

A big thank you also to Bryce Adams, the exhibition organiser, who works hard to make thE event such a success.

The Exhibition runs until Saturday. Everyone welcome.

Prize winners this year were:

Hillman Cup and cheque, Penny Ramalho, A Fistful of Rain (in oil).

President’s Prize: Life Study Cup and cheque, Allen Offord, Searching (in oil).

Chairman’s Prize: Most Original Work Shield and cheque, Kevin McClelland, Reticent (in acrylic).

A E Armstrong Prize for best Print Work and cheque, Ross Thompson, St Elmo’s Fire (digital) Colonel Clarke Memorial Bursary for the best entry by a senior pupil from a local school: 1st, trophy and cheque, Kieran Kelly, Loreto College, “Peace Bridge” (in acrylic); 2nd, cheque, Browen Butler, Loreto College, “Object of Control”l 3rd prize - Cheque – Gemma Laird “Zig-Saw Cupcake” North Coast Integrated College.
