Community carol service

The Community Outreach Group are holding a community carol service at the Jethro Centre on Friday, December 6.

Everyone is invited to this annual celebration in words and music of the birth of Christmas.

Meanwhile the speaker at the next meeting of the Community Outreach Group at 8 pm on Wednesday, November 27 in St Peter’s Parish Hall is Dr Cathal McManus, co-ordinator of the Open Learning Programme in the School of Education, Queen’s University, Belfast.

His topic, covering the period which follows the Anglo-Norman invasions and conquests marking the beginning of England’s involvement in Irish society and the subsequent period of warfare and settlement during the Gaelic Revival, will be of great interest in understanding the events which shaped local shared history.

Admission to all our meetings is free of charge and open to all-comers, light refreshments are served and a warm welcome is assured.
