Community Choir to be established

TO celebrate the Paralympic Games, Ballymena Borough Council is hosting a day of celebration in The Braid Arts Centre on Saturday, August 25.

It will be wonderful family orientated day of music, dance and drama.

With the help of local singer Sylvia Burnside, it is hoped that a Community Choir will be established to perform at this event in the hope that it continues from strength to strength and helps to develop Ballymena’s involvement in the arts.

Organisers hope that this event will be the start of a sustainable Ballymena Choir that will perform throughout the year and offer opportunities that would not be open to individuals otherwise.

The aim of the choir is to be all inclusive; to represent the wide diversity of ages, abilities and backgrounds that make Ballymena a great place for everyone.

You do not need to be a professional singer or have any singing experience - this is an opportunity to come together and have fun.

An information evening will be held in The Braid Arts Centre on Tuesday, May 15 between 7pm and 8pm.

Please come along to express your interest and ask any questions you may have.

Everyone is welcome, so spread the word to anyone you might think would like to participate and bring a friend along to the information evening.

If you are unable to attend the information evening and you would like to express your interest please contact Hannah Gibson by email [email protected] or by telephoning 028 25 635 927.
