Community organisations support those in Need

Organisations and voluntary groups across Mid Ulster are offering help and support to local communities, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those who are vulnerable or unable to leave their home due to self-isolation and need groceries, a prescription or fuel for heat, can contact the many groups across Mid Ulster with volunteers offering to help, as well as provide advice, counselling or a friendly chat over the phone.

You will find details of these organisations on Mid Ulster District Council’s website, at www.midulstercouncil.org/covid19, as well as a list of foodbanks available across the district and changes to essential services. On the other hand, if you are a member of an organisation that can provide support please submit your details online via a short survey available at the web address above.

The Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Martin Kearney would like to thank the many community organisations in Mid Ulster who are providing invaluable support at this time.

“In the worst circumstances, we have seen great kindness and generosity by so many who are helping the vulnerable members of our community and those in self-isolation. I would like to thank everyone involved in these groups and organisations who are providing support to our residents that need it most, from food deliveries to collecting prescriptions. If you are someone who needs help, please contact the Council or visit our website to find out more about the many organisations providing support in your area.”

For more information about help and support available near you, please visit www.midulstercouncil.org/covid19, telephone 03000 132132, or if you are part of an organisation that can help, please complete the online survey.
