The schemes offer Year 13 pupils the opportunity to spend some weeks working in the science and IT related sector during the summer months.

Nicole had a place on the Sentinus scheme and Jenny with Nuffield Research and the celebration event was an opportunity for them to join with pupils from schools across Northern Ireland to showcase projects they had worked on during their placements.

Their participation in the scheme was organised by Conor Wilson, Head of Careers at the High School.

He said: “We are delighted that two of our pupils were able to get places on these schemes. In addition to developing their skills and exposing them to a real work setting we know that this opportunity will enhance their CV as they seek employment after university.”
