The Corner Bakery on Ballymoney Street opened its doors on November 10 under the management of Peter Nixon and his team.

Peter admits that making the move to go out on his own in business was a “quick learning curve” but in the end a “great decision”.

“The past year has flown in and we have developed a very friendly and loyal customer base,” Peter said.

He added: “I would like to thank them for their support; I would be lost without them.”

While other businesses have struggled, joining Ballymena’s cafe culture was a risk for Peter but one that has ultimately paid off.

“The big achievement in our first year was becoming a finalist in Ballymena Business awards - Small Eatery/Coffee Shop Category,” Peter said.

He added: “I would Like to thank customers, friends and family for all their support; and the fantastic staff for their hard work, professionalism and great attitude in helping The Corner Bakery grow and thrive in a competitive market.”

To celebrate The Corner Bakery’s first year in business, customers can enjoy 20% off sit-in orders throughout November on production of the business’ advertisement on Page 7 of this week’s Ballymena and Antrim Times.

“This is our way of thanking all our loyal customers as well as hopefully seeing some new faces as well,” Peter said.
