Crime latest in the Moyle area

Police are investigating after basins and urinals were damaged in the public toilets at Quay Road Playing Fields, Ballycastle sometime over the weekend. The cost to repair the damage is estimated at around £500.

Police are investigating a report that a paint bomb was thrown at a house on the Urbal Road, Bushmills, in the early hours of Tuesday 25 November.

Police believe that an attempt had been made to remove lead from a house on Riverside Road, Bushmills. The incident was reported on Wednesday 26 November and officers are investigating at present.

Police are investigating the suspected theft of a blue Toyota Hilux jeep with a trailer attached. The theft is thought to have happened on Wednesday 26 November sometime between 6.30pm and 8pm at Armoy Market, Coolkeeran Road, Armoy.

Police received the report of a garage having been broken into at Ballybrack Road, Cushendall on Friday 28 November and a black Volkswagen Golf car stolen. A welder and socket set are also thought to have been taken during the same incident.

Police carried out a search of a property in Stroanshesk Park, Ballycastle, under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Friday 28 November. Two people were arrested, a 52 year old man on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and possession with intent to supply and a 45 year old woman on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and possession with intent to supply. Officers also seized a number of items during the search. Both people have been released on bail until January.

Police arrested a 49 year old man at a house in the Stroanshesk area of Ballycastle on suspicion of assault following a domestic incident on Friday 28 November. The man has been released on bail to 18 December.
