Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary Summer Open Day 2012

It is a chance for the public to come along to see at first hand the work carried out by the charity with the rescued horses, ponies, dogs, cats and chickens in it’s care.

Volunteers will be giving tours of the sanctuary and introducing some of the horses and ponies that are looking for new homes.

There will be pony rides, face painting, book sale, tombola and bric a brac. Teas, coffees and snacks will be available.

As the number of animals being abandoned has soared over the last year, the continuing support of sponsors becomes even more crucial.

Sponsors are fundamental to the survival of the charity and new sponsors are needed urgently. Sponsorship provides a dependable source of funding which goes directly towards the care of the horses, ponies, dogs, cats and chickens.

The money gives an animal in desperate need, the second chance it deserves. These animals can only be helped if the public support the charity.

As a sponsor you will receive: colour print of your chosen animal; a sponsor’s certificate; a profile of the animal; quarterly newsletter; bi-annual sponsors open days; the knowledge that you have made a difference.

Some of the long term resident ponies at Crosskennan who cannot be re-homed for a variety of reasons, have always worked to raise funds to help horses and ponies less fortunate than them.

To date the ponies have provided rides at the charity’s popular Pony Parties, Coffee Mornings, Own a Pony Day and Kid’s Clubs.

They have attended Community events, visited schools to raise awareness of animal welfare issues and provided an educational focus for animal care talks.

Donations to the charity can also now be made by simply texting CLAS12 followed by the amount of the donation eg £5, to 70070.
