CultureBOX: don’t miss it

This Easter Weekend everyone is invited to Big Telly’s multi-cultural celebration event in THE BOX, 13 The Promenade, Portstewart.

There’s a full-packed weekend of events including: South Asian Dancing, an Indian Tea Party, Live Music, stories and short films from different cultures, and a Drumming Circle.

Over the past four weeks we have been working with groups, families and individuals to create a celebration of diversity in our local area. The event is FREE and everyone is welcome to come along.

Key highlights are as follows:

Saturday 30th March: 2pm Innova - Dancing around the World; 2.30pm Short films / Performance; 3pm Indian Tea Party—Sagas, Saris and a bit of Bhangra; 4pm Padhma’s South Asian Dance class; 6pm Mayan Culture; 6.30pm Live Music - Salsa, Cajun, Flamenco, Cuban.

Easter Sunday: 2pm Short films / Performance / Dance; 3pm Mama Panya’s Pancakes –a village tale from Africa; 4pm Innova - Dancing around the World; 5pm Mayan Culture; 5.30pm Short films / Performance; 6.30pm Global MusicBOX.

Monday 1st April: 2pm Japanese Tea Ceremony, Calligraphy & Origami Workshop; 2pm Maiko Dance; 4pm The Gathering Drum - Drumming Circle.
