Cunningham welcomes interim Dalriada decision
SDLP Ballycastle Councillor Dónal Cunningham has welcomed the decision of Mr Justice Treacy to grant an interim order keeping Dalriada Hospital open while a judicial review into the closure of the hospital proceeds.
He said: “This is great news for Dalriada hospital, the MS patients, doctors, nurses and the north coast community. Mr Justice Treacy has recognised that maintaining provision at the Dal is less likely to cause injustice, something that campaigners have been saying for weeks.
“This will give a great boost to the campaign as at last people feel that they’re being listened to. While this is a cause for optimism among local people and campaigners, we must remain resolved. The fight to save Dalriada on a permanent basis goes on.
“The Community campaign will remain strong and operate in parallel to the judicial case. It’s important that we now redouble our efforts to have this unjust and unfair closure decision reversed.”
